with epithelial and stromal components. Furthermore, a palpable mass in the adolescent breast incurs anxiety for both
the patient and family.
Objectives: - 1. To assess the pre-test level of knowledge regarding Fibroadenoma of breasts and the factors leading

the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on the knowledge regarding Fibroadenoma of breasts and the
factors leading to Fibroadenoma of breasts among female degree students in selected degree college, Bengaluru.3.To
assess the pre-test & post-test level of knowledge regarding Fibroadenoma of breasts and the factors leading to
Fibroadenoma of breasts among female degree students in selected degree college, Bengaluru.4.To find out the
association between pre-test regarding level of knowledge regarding Fibroadenoma of breasts and the factors leading
to Fibroadenoma of breasts among female degree students in selected degree college, Bangalore with their selected
demographic variables.
Design:-Pre-experimental design (one group pre-test post-test design) was used to study effectiveness of STP. 60
female degree students from TBSEIMS, Kumbalgodu, Bangalore were recruited by non-probability convenient
sampling method. Necessary administrative permission was obtained from concerned authority. Structured interview
schedule was used to elicit the baseline data and structured questionnaires were used to elicit the knowledge of
female degree students.
Setting:-The study was conducted at TBSEIMS, Kumbalgodu, Bangalore, 60 samples were selected for the present
study.
Result: - The study revealed that among 60 female degree students, 57 (95%) female degree students had adequate
knowledge, 5(5%) female degree students had moderately adequate knowledge & there was no inadequate knowledge
found in the post-test score. The mean pre-test knowledge score of female degree students was 9.4, whereas the mean
post-test knowledge score was 25.35. The obtained ‘t” value was 34.22 which was found statistically significant 0.05
levels.
Conclusion :- The study concluded that the structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding Fibroadenoma
of Breasts and the Factors Leading to Fibroadenoma of Breasts among Female Degree Students in Selected Degree
College, Bangalore” carried out in the study was found to be effective in the improving knowledge of female degree
