Abstract

Intravenous cannulation and intravenous therapy are the most common procedure performed by nurses in
Indian Set up. The complications and risks associated with Intravenous are greater extent depend up on
the depend up on the Nurses knowledge and skill. Competent nurse who has trained in specialized area of
infusion nursing may have impact on patient and institutional related outcomes. This article highlights the
need of competency-based core curriculum on infusion nursing in Indian set-up.
