Abstract

Introduction: E-learning is a new and quickly adapting means of learning among newer generation studentsas well as faculties. Aim & Objectives: To assess Knowledge, Attitude and Practicest owards e-learning methods to improve clinical and theoretica lskills amongst medical undergraduates and its incorporation in further medical education. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we evaluated the conceptof e-learningamong undergraduate medical students of different socio-economic and demographic backgrounds.30 students fromeach MBBS batchwere chosen by stratified random sampling and a questionnaire having both open (3) andclose (23) ended questions regardinge-learningmethodswhichwerefilled by these students. Results: Total of 135 undergraduate medical students included, among them 55(40.7%) were males, 78 (57.8%) were females. Majority were aware of e-learning. About 88% of them had access to internet and 79.3% had personal computers or laptops. About 90.4% believed e-learning is innovative and shall be encouraged but at the same time 51.9% were afraid if employment would be tough or not. Conclusions: Majority felt that e-learning plays an important role in acquiring clinical skills along with other learning methods in educational institutes. So, there is a need to provide necessary infrastructure and include e-learning as a part of curriculum in medical education
