Health-Promoting Lifestyle Behaviors, Menopausal Symptoms and Quality of Sleep among Menopausal Women in Karnataka

Background:Menopause, marking the cessation of reproductive functions, triggers a cascade of physiological and psychological changes that can profoundly impact women’s wellbeing. This study aimed to determine the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Behaviors, Menopausal Symptoms and Quality of Sleep among Menopausal Women.
Materials and Methods:The study adopted descriptive cross sectional research design.
Results:
Out of one hundred menopausal women assessed, maximum number of women were symptomatic with subjective expression of at least one symptom. The most commonly reported symptoms was anxiety (53%), depressive mood (51%), disturbed sleep (49%) accompanied by physical and mental exhaustion (44%).Majority (67%) of the women had moderate level of HPLP. Maximum of the women (68%) had sleep latency less than once per week.
Conclusion:
This study holds the potential to guide effective interventions that empower women to navigate this life transition with progressed health and wellbeing.
