Articles in Indian Journal of Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy are Open Access articles which permits use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work and source is properly cited.
Copyright Policy Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:-1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication 2.Authors continue to retain publishing rights to the article without restrictions.
Submissions-Usually there are multiple authors of the manuscript , only one corresponding author is to be designated for all the communications with the journal .It is the responsibility of corresponding author to warranty that the data in the manuscript is orginal and scientifically accurate;the manuscript is the genuine orginal work without invading any right of privacy and does not infringe on any copyright and all authors have agreed to participate in the peer review process. The corresponding author also warranty that the manuscript is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and will not be submitted elsewhere for publication till the review process by the journal.
Review Policy for articles- The journal follows double blind peer review policy for all articles. Once the article is received by the managing staff editor it is reviewed by him at internal level and if the staff editor finds it appropriate then the manuscript is sent for external review to the reviewers of the field, it is forwarded to our two reviewers after removing names of authors and their affiliations. Authors are also not informed names of reviewers. Reviewers send their inputs based on content,quality,orginality,relevance and interest in due course of time and these comments/ queries are forwarded to authors to make corrections or offer explanations. Once the reviewers are satisfied with corrections in manuscripts or explanations given by authors, authors are conveyed the decision of acceptance of article. If author/s refuses to make corrections as suggested by reviewers, manuscript is rejected for publication.
Plagiarism checking policy- The journal has zero tolerance policy for plagiarism. We regularly use software Dupli checker for detection of plagiarism.Plagiarism in all forms constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.
The Journal follows ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journals Editor) guidelines. Authors are requested to visit icmje how to prepare article. Please go through latest recommendations and then submit article.
The manuscript should be in English and prepared on the following guidelines: -
Title: Title should be brief, specific, and informative.
Authors: Names of authors to be typed, unaccompanied by their degrees, titles etc. Superscripting must be done to number authors.
Address: Address of the institution where the work was carried out be given below the name(s) of author(s). Present address of correspondence should be given indicating by asterisk the author to whom the correspondence is to be addressed.
Abstract: Abstract need to be introduce in three parts (Background/Methods/Conclusion). The Abstract should be informative and completely self-explanatory, briefly present the topic, state the scope of the experiments, indicate significant data, and point out major findings and conclusions. The Abstract should be in about 150 to 200 words. Standard nomenclature should be used, and abbreviations should be avoided. No literature should be cited.
Key words: Following the abstract, key words not more than 8 that will provide indexing references should be listed and in alphabetical order.
Introduction: This should be brief, and the review of the literature should be pertinent to the theme of the paper. Extensive review and unnecessary detail of earlier work should be avoided.
Materials and Methods: It should inform the reader about appropriate methodology etc. but if known methods have been adopted, only references be cited. It should comprise the experimental design and techniques with experimental area and institutional with year of experiment. Authors need to indicate when (year/period) and where (university/institute) the present experiment was conducted.
Results and Discussion: It should be combined to avoid repetition. The results should not be repeated in both tables and figures. The discussion should relate to the significance of the observations.
Conclusion and Acknowledgement Table numbers should be followed by the title of the table, Line drawings/photographs should contain figure number and description thereof. The corresponding number(s) of Tables, Figures etc should be quoted in the text.
References: The author should use the author-date format for citations and references (e.g., Hebbar et al. 2006; Subba Rao, 2001). A List of all the references quoted should be provided at the end of the paper,the references should not exceed 25 in number. It should be prepared alphabetically with surname of all the authors followed by their initials and year of publication in brackets. The titles of the articles should be mentioned. Full journal name should be used and be typed in italics. Volume numbers need to be in bold type and pagination in normal type.
Page/Line Number: Authors are requested to mention Page number and Line number to each line in the MS for easy and quick review. Text Alignment, line spacing, word count, figures, tables etc must be as per format.
The journal invites the following kinds of submissions:
1.Full-length articles (not exceeding 3,000 words including references but excluding Tables and Figures).
2.Short theoretical articles (not exceeding 2,000 words including references).
3.Review Articles (not exceeding 6000 words).
Send one file only including Text, Tables and Figures.
All the papers are double blind peer reviewed. The responsibility for any statement in the article rests with the author(s).
