Abstract

Background: Dynamic balance implies to the capability of a person to hold their balance while being involved in any action or movement, re-positioning, or moving oneself. Badminton players require significant dynamic balance due to the need to move swiftly around the court to perform actions and sustain injury-free performances, Explosive strength is crucial for high-level badminton performance.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluates the effect of plyometric training and core stability training on dynamic balance and lower body power in badminton players, using My jump lab for precise performance measurements.

Methodology: This study involved Forty-six players were selected in this study in that based on the criteria for inclusion and exclusion, 40 badminton players in total were chosen. Outcome measurements included the vertical jump and Y balance tests. Two groups of 20 players each were formed. For six weeks, one group received plyometric exercise while the other group received core stability training. Jump performance parameters, like jump height, were measured using my Jump Lab application.

Results: In the within-group analysis, both groups showed statistically significant improvements in the dominant Y balance test and vertical jump test (VJT). In the between-group study, the plyometric group showed statistically significant improvements over the core stability group in measures.

Conclusion: In this study Plyometric training has proven to be more effective than core stability training in enhancing lower body power by using my jump lab and dynamic balance in badminton players. This suggests that incorporating plyometric exercises can yield better improvements in performance for recreational badminton players.
